Quality

Mr.Junping Shao, who got into a boat factory in 1989 in Hangzhou to produce top-of-the-line water sport equipment, established Kanghua Hangzhou Boats Company in 2009.

He is the primary owner and runs the factory assuring properly trained craftsmanship and following high-standardized methodical composite manufacturing methods.

Generation 2 boats are re-crafted based on the more than 30 year boat building experience of Eric Roy Sims, Philip Kemsley of the UK and Mr Shao of China.

Eric Roy Sims hand built Eton Boats for over a decade and has been repairing 150-200 boats per year. His knowledge of every facet of boat building extends across every boat manufacturer recognizing the strengths and limits of each boat maker. This knowledge is applied to the Generation 2 Boats now available.

Philip Kemsley trained to build boats and also repaired boats for over a decade. Philip's attention to production and process control and management, materials testing assure the consistent quality of the Kanghua Generation 2 boats.

Kanghua boats are designed to be compatible with widely available ranges of rigging equipment, including rudders, seats, slides and footplates - the kind of equipment the average club boatman will have in his workshop.

Kanghua Boat Range

Kanghua offers five different ranges of well-proven shapes for their rowing racing shells to meet the needs and expectations of each of the crews around the world.

All Kanghua hulls are made by vacuum process with epoxy resins and oven cured. Teams can choose between a classic aluminium wing rigger and carbon back wing rigger. The aluminum riggers are anodized and welded from a high-strength aluminum profile. The new carbon back wing-rigger is made of prepreg. carbon layouts and under high pressure.

KX (A ++)

Seat decks and bulkheads are made of carbon fibre sandwich under high pressure. The best choice for the most demanding teams, who only settle for the best possible available option.
